Strawberry World is a wonderful place where it rains strawberries and large strawberries grow and everybody is happy.Strawberry Shortcake lives in a large Strawberry cottage with her dog Cupcake, her talking cat Custard, and her baby sister Apple Dumpling. Strawberry Shortcake has a lot of friends. Her best friends are Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie. Most of her friends have nice pets. Blueberry Muffin's pet is Cheesecake the mouse. Huckleberry Pie's pet is Pupcake the puppy; and Apple Dumpling's pet is Tea Time Turtle.

Strawberry Shortcake first appeared on a greeting card for girls back in 1979.A toy company, Kenner, introduced the Strawberry Shortcake dolls in 1980. Between 1980 and 1984 Strawberry Shortcake Mininiatures were also produced with over a count of over 64 minis.
